The KNX weather station records wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, global radiation, temperature, twilight, relative humidity, air pressure and, with four sensors, brightness in different directions. The maximum value of the brightness sensors, absolute humidity, perceived temperature and comfort are calculated from the measured data. The area of application is an automatic weather-dependent shading system especially for domestic use.
The weather station monitors some of its main functions and automatically reports relevant faults via message objects on the bus. Applied voltage monitoring. The fault is reported via a communication object on the bus.

The location of the installation site can be determined using GPS.

The two limits with adjustable sensor hysteresis can be parameterized internally or specified as 8-bit or 16-bit values. The learning function allows the application of the current measured value to the limit. All limit objects have a parameterizable on and off delay. 16 logical gateways (AND, AND with return, OR, exclusive OR, NAND, NOR) with up to four inputs for external and internal 1-bit values. 4 locking elements for blocking functions or manual operation.
It is possible to implement an automatic shading control system for up to 8 facades with monitoring of the slats depending on the position of the sun and control of the height of the curtain.
All values can be displayed when changing values and cyclically. The outputs of the blocking elements can only be sent if the value changes. 
Weather stations can be cascaded using logic functions. This is recommended to extend the functions (measuring wind force on different facades) or to significantly increase functional reliability through redundancy.
