The area / line coupler interconnects two KNX lines in terms of data technology and ensures galvanic separation between these lines. This means that each bus line in a KNX installation can be operated electrically independently of the other lines.

Regional/ line coupler
Use as oblast or line coupler depending on physical address assignment and parameterization. Bus load reduction via filter function. Group telegram forwarding can be parameterized. Retry frequency in case of transmission errors. Telegram confirmation is configurable.
Support for a fully extended group address area from 0 to 31 with "block", "do not filter" and "filter" functions in both directions of communication between the main and secondary line (from ETS 4.1.2).
The unfiltered forwarding and blocking function can also be selected for physically addressed telegrams between the main and secondary lines in both directions of communication (programming and tamper protection) (from ETS 4.1.2).
Repeat function: yes / no in case of transmission errors on the main or secondary line for the type of transmitted telegram, which can be set separately (from ETS 4.1.2).
Confirmation of the telegram on the main or secondary line with settings is always possible and only with forwarding separately for group telegrams and telegrams physically addressed (from ETS 4.1.2).
The always reject NACK (Not-Acknowledge) setting can be selected for physically addressed telegrams (feedback programming protection (from ETS 4.1.2).

Line amplifier
As a line repeater, the lines can be extended to a maximum of four line segments (maximum of three liner repeaters connected in parallel on the line), each with up to 64 subscribers. Retry frequency in case of transmission errors.

Tips
A separate power supply is required for each line (area line, subline) or each line section.
